Irdeto Conditional Access Module (CAM)

A Conditional Access Module or CAM is essentially a device that un-encrypts (unscrambles or decodes) encrypted Satellite Television signals.

Satellite TV services such as Optus Aurora are encrypted to ensure that only people with an authorised subscription card, can receive their services.

The Satellite TV receiver must have a Common Interface Slot (CI Slot) in order for a CAM to be installed. Some Satellite TV receivers are free-to-air only and cannot receive encrypted services.

Installation is achieved simply by sliding the CAM into the receiver's CI slot until it locks. The subscription card is then inserted into the CAM.

Works with any Digital Satellite TV receiver (DVB-S) with a CI (Common Interface) slot enabling the decoding of Irdeto (I and II ) encryption system of Optus Aurora and some Pay TV services, with the authorised subscription card.
